Mentor Program
The NRTA actively promoted mentoring program language in our new contract. We have been successful in creating a program for all our newly certified and first year probationary teachers for this school year. It is imperative to give these new members support from day one. In an effort to get mentors in place, we have agreed to expedite the process by placing the application on the Central Office web site rather than doing a mailing. These are Contract for Excellence grant positions.

If you go to:

www.nrcsd.org

There is a Mentoring Application tab on the left side of the page. The criteria and the duties of the Mentor are included. Print out the application and fax, mail or drop off the application to Central Office Personnel to the attention of James MaGuire by August 27th. Members of the Professional Development Planning Team will be matching mentors to Mentees on Wednesday August 29th.

All applications will be kept for future mentoring opportunities.  You will be notified by the District on or before opening day and given the name of your mentee. There will be mandatory training for mentors later this year.

We understand this is a condensed time line. We feel it is imperative to promise professional support the first day of school to our new staff.

This is a great opportunity to share our professional wealth.

In Solidarity,
Robin Brennan
