FOR YOUR 2008 NRTA
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The NRTA Scholarship Committee is made up a chairperson and six teachers and teaching assistants representing, NRHS, Fieldstone SS, and the middle and elementary schools.

The chairperson will visit every senior English classroom and distribute flyers regarding the scholarship information beginning the week of February 4th. Students will be encouraged to participate and reminded that only the application and the essay are to be mailed to the office.

The scholarship application and essay question will be posted on the website on Friday, February 15th. All applications must be postmarked by Saturday, March 15 and mailed to the NRTA office.

Once received, the chairperson removes names from the essays and assigns them numbers. The essays are then read “blindly” by the committee. Papers are rated by the individual members who then meet with the chairperson to ascertain the highest scores.

Students are notified of the results at the NRHS Awards Assembly in May. They are then invited by the Committee to a reception in June honoring them, their parents, and members of the NRTA about whom they have written.

Please encourage your own sons and daughters and all other eligible students to participate.
